Cornus kousa ‘Madame Butterfly’ with tapering white bracts above Hovel Cart Road.
First full out flowers on Brassaiopsis dumicola and another flower forming for next year.
Brassaiopsis mitis is romping ahead but no flower. Already 6-7 feet tall.
Rhododendron ‘Tally Hoo’.
Lithocarpus hancei flowering as though its life depended on producing acorns.
2025 – CHW
The first flower on a newly planted out Magnolia x wieseneri ‘Charm & Fragrance’. An upright flower unlike the M. x wieseneri ‘Aashild Kalleberg’ which we saw yesterday.

Justin with the large Gold Medal for the Burncoose stand at the Royal Cornwall Show in the Flower Tent. Congratulations to Louisa, Molly and the team. The best display in the tent of rare and unusual plants and a fitting follow up to the Chelsea Gold Medal.
