  1. Athrotaxus selaginoides is rare, should be grown more often as it is nice, needs but prermanent humid soil. Podocarpus chingianus is near to P. macrophyllus, so leaves are large, about 8 cm long; this is Prumnopitys andina, from Chile, it resembles yew and can be used like this, but has greyish-green leaves, fruits are edible and good for jam. Nyssa chinensis has sure autumn colours but can not tolerate dry soils.
    Fruits of Chaenomeles speciosa make also a good, aromatic jelly.
