Much has been done in the garden and the gardens have been open to the public since Feburary.
We are now getting ready for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. This year the theme of our stand is Plants and their pollinator’s. Lots of pictures of the plants in our show tunnel ready for the show, but final decisions on what to include are yet to be taken.
My father has had his 90th birthday, and I find myself a grandpa for the first time with the arrival of Isla Rose.
I taken masses of photos of our gardens for you to enjoy, on some days in March you will find over 100 images a day on some days – that has to be a record.
I am really good at wittering on about the things I find in the garden and putting these up every day, and following with images a few days later, but I keep forgetting to post things here for those of you who subscribe to updates and must wonder where I have gone since April!
24th of May saw us win a Gold medal at Chelsea Flower Show.
24th of June was liberation day, but now writing this one wonders whether it will be allowed to happen.
7th July – The interpretation panel for the newly restored Battery Walk Arch is up in the beach car park
August sees us on holiday in the Isle of Wight and going around garden centres taking pictures.
September and work is well under way to make a new area beside the beach for wedding parties.
Only as far as 5th October with the images, must chivvy Karol along.
I cannot believe we are nearly at the end of April, time flies and we are so busy.
I still have the odd missing picture but generally things are now all up to date to end of March. Most of musings for April are here, and I still have the pictures to sort. From November to March I have added an amazing 824 images.
However, much excitment today as we won Plant of the Year at RHS Chelsea Flower Show with a lovely new Viburnum plicatum ‘Kilimanjaro Sunrise’, which Burncoose will be selling exclusively later this year. Jan Willem Wezelenburg Hazerswoude discovered this as a seedling amongst the crop of the recently introduced parent V plicatum Kilimanjaro.
Here is hoping that tomorrow brings a good medal for the stand as well.
All April posts and images are in, but we are still fiddling with the layout and links from the 10th April.
May posts are in to the 17th, but most without any images at all at the moment.
